LAW –
Light Assault Weapon designed for anti-armor and anti-personnel missions (if you’re curious about the anti-personnel missions read Rogue State, you’ll never look at a manhole cover the same way again). The M-72 is single user launcher tube that fires a 66mm fin-stabilized HEAT round at 475 feet per second at a maximum range of 200 yards.

Lexington Compact –
These are bad guys that do bad things for crooked politicians, renegade Russians and Chinese spies. They started out as a plot device in Reap the Whirlwind and as a way to connect Damon Layne into parts of the story. However, when I sat down to work through the Terror War Series, it occurred to me that I could use them again. I don’t really know how insidious the Lexington Compact will become, or who all the players are. Stay tuned.

Looking Glass –
A fleet of airborne command and control aircraft for United States nuclear forces. From 1961 through 1990, a Looking Glass nuclear command and control aircraft was airborne to ensure that a nuclear response remained credible. Looking Glass was a modified EC-135 packed full of hardened communication and electronics gear. They were commanded either by a Admiral or Air Force General and they flew out of Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. In 1998, Looking Glass was replaced y the National Airborne Operations Center based at Offutt AFB in Nebraska.
